Three European countries plan a joint e-SAF support auction

Global e-Fuels reports on Germany, Austria and Luxembourg’s joint double-sided auction mechanism for e-SAF. Germany’s 21 September announcement pledges up to EUR 2 billion, with Austria and Luxembourg offering up to EUR 60 million each, to bridge producer and buyer prices. The official announcement makes support conditional on European Commission state-aid approval; the figures are commitments, not disbursed funds.

Haltermann Carless and INERATEC sign LOI for planned Normandy renewable fuels project

Haltermann Carless and INERATEC signed a letter of intent for a power-and-biomass-to-liquids project in Normandy. Haltermann intends to buy bio-e-SAF and bio-e-naphtha for a minimum 10-year period after start-up. Commissioning is planned for 2029; from 2031 the project targets approximately 60,000 tonnes of wood residues annually and at least 13,000 tonnes of Fischer-Tropsch products. These are planned capacity and purchasing intentions, not operating output or a final investment decision.

UFOP reports disappointing oilseed harvest but rapeseed prices near 500 EUR/tonne

UFOP’s annual meeting described Germany’s oilseed harvest as uneven and disappointing, with harvest-time rapeseed producer prices rising to 500 EUR/tonne and partly offsetting weaker yields. The association links dependable yields and prices to domestic biofuel feedstock availability and calls for broader biodiesel use. This is an association’s market assessment and advocacy, not a certified fuel-feedstock transaction or a newly enacted blending rule.

Shell and partners develop a 24 kW co-electrolysis pilot for e-SAF

Global e-Fuels reports a Shell, Fraunhofer IKTS and AVL programme integrating solid-oxide co-electrolysis with Fischer–Tropsch synthesis at Shell’s Amsterdam campus. The planned test combines a 24 kW electrolyser with existing pilot equipment. Shell’s 15 September announcement describes a research programme intended to improve efficiency and affordability; it does not announce a commissioned commercial e-SAF plant.
