    Incobrasa doubles biodiesel production capacity

Incobrasa Industries has completed a major expansion of its biodiesel plant in Gilman, Illinois, raising annual capacity from 75 million gallons to 170 million gallons, with the expanded capacity coming online in early October. The expansion follows the company's expansion of soybean processing capacity in Gilman, aimed at processing US-grown soybeans domestically into food, feed and fuel products. The article links the investment to domestic demand under the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) and cites representatives of NOPA, Incobrasa and the Illinois Soybean Association, who say the move benefits farmer markets, rural jobs and US energy security.

Clean Fuels welcomes EPA proposal to reallocate 2025 small refinery exemptions

EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin announced the release of the Reallocation of Additional 2025 Small Refinery Exemptions proposed rule. EPA proposes adding supplemental volumes to the current Renewable Fuel Standards so the standards finalized on April 1 are not eroded by the small refinery exemptions granted on August 31. EPA is proposing and taking comment on two approaches for reallocating 100% of the 770 million RIN difference between estimated and granted 2025 exemptions: split the supplemental volume between 2026 and 2027 obligations, or add the full supplemental volume to 2027 obligations. Clean Fuels Alliance America welcomed the proposal and urged EPA to finalize adding supplemental volumes to both 2026 and 2027.

Growth Energy backs EPA plan to reallocate 100% of SRE-lost gallons in 2025 RVOs

Growth Energy commended the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for proposing to reallocate 100% of the difference between projected and actual exempted gallons lost to small refinery exemptions (SREs) in the 2025 renewable volume obligations (RVOs) under the Renewable Fuel Standard. In August, EPA announced a plan to grant 29 SREs from the 2025 RVO, while pledging to fully account for any lost demand before the end of October. Growth Energy CEO Emily Skor said reallocating the lost gallons would strengthen the rural economy and give farmers reliable new markets, and credited congressional champions and USDA Secretary Rollins for supporting biofuel growth.
